김은주는 입자와 파동이라는 조형 단위로 빛을 감각하고 그려내 왔습니다. 그의 두 번째 개인전 <사랑의 모양 Shape of Love>은 그 빛의 흐름이 물결 위로 드리워진 시선을 담았습니다. 밤빛부터 노을까지의 색깔. 물의 결, 방울, 입자의 모양. 그 색과 형상들이 다시금 빛이 되어 흩어지거나 어딘가에 스미기를 상상해 봅니다. 물, 빛, 공기 같은 투명하게 빛나는 물질을 바라보고자 함은 눈을 감고 보이지 않는 세계를 바라보는 것과 같습니다. 눈을 감아야 비로소 보이는 눈으로 그려내는 그림은 그 어떤 ‘사랑의 모양’과도 닮아있습니다.
