Q : 이번 출품작에 대한 간략한 설명을 적어주세요.
A :
판화 작업실에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 단단하고 무거운 철재 가구들을 천과 솜, 스펀지라는 부드럽고 힘 없는 재료로 재구성한 <작업실 시리즈>는 작업하는 삶의 불안에 대해 이야기하고 있습니다. 하지만 작가는 불안이라는, 사회적으로 부정적으로 느껴지는 감정을 그대로 방치하거나 숨기려하지 않고, 조심스럽게 밖으로 드러내며 이해하고 포른히 감싸 안으려 노력합니다.
The , which reinterprets the hard and heavy metal furniture commonly found in printmaking studios using soft and powerless materials like fabric, cotton, and sponge, speaks to the anxiety of a working life. However, the artist does not try to hide or neglect this socially perceived negative emotion of anxiety. Instead, she carefully exposes it, striving to understand and fully embrace it.

Q : 작가님의 작업에서 판화가 갖는 의미는 무엇인가요?
A :
생각과 감정의 숙성입니다. 판화는 필연적으로 같은 이미지를 3번이상 (에스키스, 전사, 판각 및 프린트) 그리게 되는데 그 과정에서 최초에 영감을 받았던 감정이나 단편적인 생각들이 조금씩 숙성되어 다각적인 해석을 가지게 됩니다. 거칠었던 감정을 이해하고 소화시키는 과정으로 활용하고 있습니다.
It is the maturation of thoughts and emotions. Printmaking inevitably involves drawing the same image more than three times (sketch, transfer, carving, and printing), and through this process, the initial emotions or fragmented thoughts that inspired me gradually mature and acquire multifaceted interpretations. I use this process to understand and digest rough emotions.
Q : 앞으로 시도하고자 하는 작업의 방향은 무엇인가요?
A :
천과 판화를 접목시킨 입체 작업들을 계속 발전시켜 나가고 싶습니다. 또한 천 작업은 시간이 많이 드는 작업이기 때문에 이미지 연구와 다작을 위해 목판화 소멸법을 활용한 평면 작업도 계속 이어갈 예정입니다.
I want to continue developing three-dimensional works that combine fabric and printmaking. Since working with fabric is time-consuming, I also plan to continue creating two-dimensional works using the mokuhanga (woodblock print) reduction method to allow for image research and prolific production.
